  1. No, the trip was not to well planed, The idea was to get to norway to see the whales and the northern lights, then cross over to lapland for some ice hole fishing. I had done an internet search before hand, but most of it turned out to be wrong and misleading. So went to plan B, Italy and Spain. Just as well the camper was bloody cold at night even with the heater on. Did get some fishing in, and came back with a load of gear from italy due to the price being around half we pay in the UK. Not a bad trip, Norway this coming sept with a diesel heater in the camper . terry
  2. Hi all, just got back from winter break, ended up in Italy, and not Norway, for some reason . Always knew her map reading was a bit odd . Anyway had a good time, and the trip was worth it just to walk around Pompei, Just so odd to see those bodies laying around, and the paintings on the walls. Anyway whats been going and more important whats going on. Hope there will be some sport out there this year, and that I will meet you all, well has many as I can, terry
  3. Thanks to you all,Yes I am looking forward to it. We are taking our campervan and the amount of bedding wendy is putting together breaks all records . The down side is that Norway is very very expensive which is OK for a short trip but not one of 4 weeks or more, so a lot of evenings will be spend in the van waiting for the light show to start, -10 outside and two pug dogs who hate the cold inside, Can,t wait to have a go at the fishing. they still get cod, and big ones to. Anyway back to packing. terry
  4. Thanks bill, yes I just don,t understand why she did it, I rang her the same day and all looked OK. Just 19 and a great girl to. Anyway yes I am looking for ward to seeing the lights and having a go at ice hole fishing, its the first time out in the camper so will get lost,no GPS in norway, lapland and so on. But we have just under 3 months to sort it out. Are you going to be around to get the kayak out on my return??????? would it be OK to give you a call ?? let me know. terry

  7. Hi all, Flynny2 how dare you, the size of my drill is a matter betwen me and a her in doors . Know realy it looks like they make a small hole, and then use a saw, Her in doors wishes to see the northern lights and this is the time of year to see them. Its going to bloody cold, but if you don,t do these things when you can one never will. Be good terry
  8. Hi, well I did not get out with Rob last sunday, I did not have an anchor and the wind was blowing just a bit to hard for this old boy, I did get out today and Nothing not a fish to be seen. O well it was good to get out, had a S++T new year due to a young ward of a mate hanging herself on new years day, she was only 19. God what makes people do that. I feel so mad and cold inside. Anyway I am getting away from the point, Due to the total lack of fish today I and my partner are going to try a bit of ice hole fishing in Norway, its wet and cold here and boring so may as well be wet and cold overthere trying something new, planning to leave early next week, wish me luck, terry
  9. WELLCOME`and I hope you have lots of fun on your Kayak, wish her indoors had got me one for christmas, All I GOT WAS A PAIR OF SOCKS . no I hope you do have fun, and if you need any help there are lots of lads here ready to help out. terry
  10. Hi Simon, the best thing for you to do is try them on. What suits one person may not suit you. I am sure the shop will not mind you having ago, and remember try to wear what you intend to wear when fishing. Sorry cannot be a lot of help, I once had to wear a dry suit, and remember is was open at the front, The older guys had open at the rear, but they had dive buddys to help them.Terry
  11. Hi all hope you had a good christmas, great pics, pity re the result, but it looks like you all had some fun, I hope I do a little better on this coming sunday. terry
  12. Hi all, anyone taking apart in the Tournament in devon or close by, If so and you feel like meeting up I would like to hear from you. Please PM or e-mail me on terry1956@btinternet.com thanks terry
  13. Hi Simon, I know what you mean re speed on the water, its just great. But like you my 20footer just eats fuel, around 60 to 70 pounds to refill the tank, but has its in france there are no slipway fees to pay, but the insurrance makes up for that. The kayak makes you feel more at home on the water, but the boat is just great . terry
  14. Hi Chuggs, you are correct with the cost of boat ownership, I have just done the bearings, brakes on my boat trailer. Not much remaining from 350 pounds, and the bearings as you will know need replacing after two seasons. the kayak is expensive with all the gear but then thats it, apart from fuel to get somewhere its all free. Must add thoe that I love the boat on a nice sunny day .terry
  15. Hi there, the best thing to do was NOT add it up. Her indoors still thinks it all came in under 300 pounds .terry PS. its only money after all
  16. Hi all, like Corydoras I to have a house in Normandy and have done for over 5 years, In that time I have seen a rise in brits moving into the area, Its become big money for the france with banks and insurrance companys having English speaking departments to deal with the need. I think that a few months ago the times stated that over 2 million people left the UK, most being white middle glass. The only reason my partner and I are still in this country is due to the older members of our family, but we send has little time here as poss. I never had any idea that one day I would come to hate the Country of my birth but I AM SORRY I do and can,t wait to get out. Just look at around at the way people are. full of beer on the weekend, young girls with armfulls of babys, and an army who don,t work and don,t want to. The UK is turning into a 3rd world country, and nothing works here, and the Englishness is just a word, if you speak out of turn then someone who has been here two seconds can have the police on you. What a dump. terry
  17. Hi there must of missed the post, whats the location and date of this event??? thanks terry
  18. Hi there. One would need a rod licence to fish the rivers, be it from the bank or on the river. These are around 27 pounds a year. I am not sure of the club permits as in oxford the river may have six or more sections belonging to clubs and to buy permits for each would be very expensive. There are nowever free river sections in devon. exeter canel is one of them. which is said to good for pike. I am sorry don,t know any areas near you, maybe have a look at a few local club sites near you and see if they can help out. hope this helps, terry
  19. Hi bill I remember watching something on tv a few years back re Artificial reefs, I think I am right in saying that the warship sank off plymouth was one of the 1st of many, I must say that I have seen know further action on this, maybe they should get all the fishing boats and place them together and sink them to repair the damage they have done. Of course no payment should be made, just sink their boats with the crews in the nets. Maybe and its a BIG maybe we will start to see a return to fishing and fish stocks I remember as a lad fishing with my dad. Mine you I was a rubbish fisherman then to terry
  20. Not going fishing but taking her indoors out next week, should be fun . Shes taken up horse riding, flying and now is having a go at Kayaking. Does anyone else have a partner has mad as mine ???????? terry
  21. Happy christmas to bill, and you all. Hope the beer runs freely and that you all get the presents you wished for, terry
  22. I would go for the 2pc set up, you can then use the bottom half during the summer months with a T shirt etc. If you buy a 1pc you have just that and nothing to match the seasons. I have a 2pc set up and it works for me, bar the fact that one off the pugs has had a go at a leg and I now have a rip. Does anyone know a way of sealing cuts and tears???????? Hope the above helps, terry
  23. Hi, My key would not work, having input it a number of times with know joy, I rang microsoft and stated that I could not read the code, they give me a new code over the phone. Its a free phone number and its found when you fall to enter the correct key code. Hope you get the system working ok. Terry. windows is a pain in the A** these days.
