  2. well, since i was a boy i have always caught crucian on the average day. Fishing on the bottom with light weights, bread etc. I have just always had that 'nack' for them. It was only till about 2 years ago where i have favoured fishing for them. Fox Predator Live Wire Lures are quite good as well, they are not rattlers as such, but they have two parts which are connected together, so they twitch through the water creating vibration.
  3. my best crucin so far is 2lb 11oz. I also love the challenge for crucian, they also fight really well for their size. i would suggest a fox crazy minnow lure for coloured water. They have like a metallic shiny caoting which really does seem to catch the pike's eyes. Its a sinking lure, which is made to imitate a dieing minnow. Hope this helps you out.
  4. thanks for your advice. i wil try to experiment as much as i can. i am fishing a new venue this saturaday and just wanted to know wether or not oil will give me that 'edge'. Thanks again.
  5. sorry rabbit for not answering the questions fast enough for you. I was occupied doing something else you see. I plan on trying to catch the pike with all methods really, i'll see what seems best on the day! I like to target course fish really, crucians being my all-time favourite. But during the slow winter months i decied to try my hand at piking!!

  13. do not leave them.... last winter i left a whole pint in my box for about 3 months...i came back to a complete sludge... that made me gag it when i opened the box...i soon just chucked away the baitbox

  16. thank for the advice glennB. I am based in suffolk at the moment, i have been river fishing hundreds of times, ive neva purposely caught a pike though. I recently caught a pike on a red maggot. it was quite small but gave a good fight. this is what's gave me the inscentive to go predator fishing

  19. yes i know..... he is clearly if he states he has regularly caught pike with cheese and that he caught a makeral in his nearby river.... what is the river.... sainsburys frozen counter???
  20. thanks whistlekiller... thats good to hear as i have no experienced pike angler to go with. I haven't got a clue what farry is going on about though....pike havin no teeth???? what are you talkin about farry? Gudgeon have no teeth ! I am also intending on doing some deadbaiting and livebaiting....any tips on what baits to use? Thanks again
  21. before i attemp to catch the fiereciset predator in english waters........ are that really that hard to unhook??? Any tips??
