  1. Good pic Snatcher, but the thing that spoils it for me is nothing to scale it with.
  2. Happy Birthday to you. been a glorious day in Sheffield, bet you wished you stayed here now
  3. Good pictures Judy, I liked them all.
  4. Can't please all the people all the time. At least people are entering now and not put off by the subject matter. As time goes by and experiance is gained I'm sure the Boss will tweak the rules a little as he (and the members) see fit, but for now pleaae give the comp time to develop in its present formatt.
  5. I definatley want to, but just booked a holiday abroad and bought a new car so pennies a little short at mo, otherwise you know I'd have it Perhaps if I sold all my other lens then I could get it. It would make an excellant carry round lens for the motor sport pics I'm doing just now.
  6. Thanks, it probably is worth around £1000 but I'll have to want a bit longer I'm afraid, I can justify the cost but can't afford it at moment due to "other" expenditure. Sorry.
  7. So give me a clue as to what your looking for, I hate it when people say make an offer. If I have some idea I can make an offer or I can just dream on.

  11. I managed to take some for Feb comp but then was poorly all week so no uploads. been out today in fresh air, feeling much better and managed a couple to enter for March
  12. I know I havn't posted much in the last few months, but I keep looging in to check in. Hope you all have a good Christmas and see you all again in the New year. Cameraman and family
  13. Well done Mick, wish i was there instead of here in cold and frost, looking at sky wondering if it'll snow. Could just imagine laying on beach waiting for a bite.
  14. If its owt like mine, I had to have it re formatted from scratch and start all over again uploading programmes I use. All cos I know nowt about computors and it was full of rubbish. I had some programmes loaded on up to seven times and still not working correctly. Funny it never felt any heavier. See you when your back then Boss.
  15. Found this. http://www.sports-camera.com/pack_1.htm Any body ever use one or anything like it?
  16. 50 views but no replies? I was hoping that someone might have tried this too, but not to worry, back to the drawing board so to speak, invention being the mother of necessatity
  17. I've been experimenting with a vehicle mounted camera, both forwards and rearwards to some degre of sucess. I've put some of the results below. Once you get used to the angles using the remote is relativley easy. Shooting at 3 - 4 frames a second produces the best result. I also use an image stabilising lens set to AV not TV. People also now want to see images of themselves on video, U tube type things. Now vehicle mounts are not the problem, the expense of the camera is!! I'm worried about damage. What I want is advice on what sort of camera to use. Cheapness being the most important factor as it will undoubtably be left out in the mud and rain unlike my EOS. I would also like the ease of memory cards of discs for quick changes. Has anyone any experiance of this or can you offer advice as with videos its a whole new world to me. These are the results of my gutter mounted EOS, which I have nighmares about damaging.
  18. Well I think you've done a grand job Mr W It can only be to the good. Rules will evolve and be amended as the competition takes its course, but this is only natural. For now untill its up and running I can't see any problems. We all need to have a little patience and let these things happen a little before deciding on alternatives or amendments. I'm looking forward to seeing the entries and submitting my own entries too.
  19. Looks like something from Star wars, or maybe the Star ship enterprise? I'd like to see it under way.
  20. Now I know its you I've seen the pint Good pics
  21. Nice to see the pics, I see the competition is very high. Well done to all who entered.
  22. Not seen one myself, but pay attention to the ISO settings and the white balance, they are probably the most important bits for you to fiddle with. Most importantly is to take loads and loads of pictures and then see how they turn out and learn from that
  23. Looking good, and I like the idea of a 3" review screen, means I'd not have to kep taking my glasses on and off LOL
