  1. Funny, had a Greys fly rod snap, first cast out, a few years back. It was a clean break, and they were willing to send me another, after I had sent it back. Did that, got a new rod back, new model actually, and want to know what happened in the first session out? Yep, same thing, clean break. Was so peeved that I put the other section on the bank and jumped on it. They eventually did give me my money back, which was all I could ask for, but I won't be going there again.
  2. Wouldn't recommend maggots on a silty bottom, they'll just wriggle into it. I definitely would recommend dead ones though, plenty of them, and for some reason, always done well with corn in silty water (easily seen in the murky depths?) Redworm, fished on a long tail, tipped with corn, and any fairly active groundbait mix. The old favourite, Expo, ought to get you your fair share of bites.
  3. Join the Pike Anglers Club of Great Britain - www.pacgb.com. Join the region, and you won't have any bother finding places, at least not in your area!!
  4. 1. Pethidene 2. Remediene Forte 3. Amitryptyline 4. Lyrica 5. Arthrotec 6 Acupuncture along with... 7. Good GP 8. Good Consultant 9. MRI & CAT scans. Works for me (and I really wish I wasn't being serious)
  5. So, what so I be asking for, and any ideas where I could get one?
  6. Relevant topic at the moment, the use of keepnets. I personally only use one when fishing with my 5yr old daughter, as she loves to see all the different fish at the end of the session. One thing I don't do though, is put the net out in deep(ish) water, as I can never get to the end of the net to peg it out, and I would be afraid of it collapsing with the fish in it. Is there a suitable way of doing this?
  7. Fox Ultra - enough said! I'm 6' 4" ,17 stone, and have arthritis in my back. I tried alot of makes, but this one was far and away the most comfortable. My bed at home isn't as comfortable. Been goin strong for four years now, and that's 45-50 weekends a year, so it's used about a hundred times, or more a year
  8. Question answered I think Thanks.
  9. Yes, we all know about that, but at the grass roots anglers, I believe, need to stop all the division and realise that we are all anglers, no matter what we fish for. How do you get the message to anglers that know nothing about the sports governing bodies?
  10. This subject keeps rearing it's head, and nothing ever seems to be working towards it, but is everyone agreed that Angling as a whole should unite, and move forward under a single voice, to fight opposition? How do you feel that could be achieved, and what are your thoughts on it?
  11. I may get shot down in flames for the very mention of the name, but I believe I have alot of experience with the Fox Continental, and I don't even Carp fish!!!. I've been using it (about 50 times a year, which is almost every weekend) for three years now, from the harshest winter nights to the warmest summers, rain, hail, sleet, snow, and I've never had any problems with it at all. It's never leaked, and shows no signs of wearing out anytime soon. I've used alot through the years, and can only say that you get what you pay for with bivvies. The reason I went for this one is the amount of room in it (two bedchairs and all my kit).
  12. Enjoyment is priceless........... (for everything else theres Mastercard ) I've no idea how much I spend on fishing, and quite frankly I don't care enough.
  13. Are there any good fisheries, commercial or otherwise, in the Stansted/Duxford area, fishable on a day ticket?
  14. My local canal has a bit of a flow in it, due to a couple of leaky locks. How would I go about combatting this problem when fishing the waggler?
  15. When fishing on the drop with a waggler, what is the best rig, and how do you spot bites properly? (First post so hello to everyone)
