  1. Thanks for the fast replies both, the reason i was looking at this camera in particular was the fact that, i really dont want to be spending more money on extra lenses, i use a tripod an awfull lot of the time so camera shake wont be any problem, i like to do alot of macro work, and this model has macro and super macro, but at the other end 28-300 seems very usable, i wont be using it for fast moving sports shots so dont really need a super fast auto focus system,i also do alot of landscape type shots, and low light shots of bands at gigs, and this camera seems to work particularly well in that situation thanks again all.
  2. Hi all my birthday is coming up soon, and kerry and the boys are going to chip in and get me a new camera, we cant afford to go for a full DSLR so ive been looking around at a few hi end compacts and bridge camera`s, and the Fuji Finepix S6500fd Review Here has caught my eye, jessops are doing it for £179.99(on its own) but i have found it at our local dealer for £200 with a 512 card and a case, the bloke in the shop took the time to run me through nearly everything on the camera, and also allowed me to have a play, taking around half an hour, great service, i was in jessops for less that 5 mins lol. so, can anyone recomend/warn against this model, or can anyone piont me to a better deal say second hand or something, cheers in advance Gray
  3. Well folks, AN has done it again, i am now a clean bunny, shower works a treat, it was the switch, i got spark to come fix it in for me, he said it was exaxctly what was mentioned here, wires not screwed tight enough, so thank you all very much, oh and did i mention he didnt even charge us, as we promised to use him to have a proper pull switch put in, so that money is going towards my new camera, what a great day once again cheers chaps

  6. great stuff folks, thanks for all your help, i will get a new switch in the morning and let you know the results.
  7. now you mention it, yes there has been a smell of fish, we couldnt work out what it was, so its the actual switch thats gone and not the r40 switch on the mains board, is that correct
  8. just spoke to my uncle and nextdoor neighbour, and they both seem to think that the trip switch has gone (Wylex b40) they say even when these go you will get a feedback to the switch(airing cuppboard) hence the half lite bulb, so, my initial thought was to try one of the other fuses, but that cant be done as the shower is a newer version so connection is smaller, so, im off to get a new trip, i will let you know the outcome cheers all.
  9. hi chesters there isnt a pull switch in the bathroom, just the switch in the airing cupboard, and the button on the shower, Newt oh how i wish ours was like that, i really do, the other day, i was that desparate, i tied our hose pipe to some fishing line, and dragged it up to our bathroom, and had a freezing cold(but very refreshing) hosing down.
  10. Hi Ajay yes it was pro fitted, about 2 years ago, and has worked fine till now, is there some obvious mark so i can see if its 30amp. chesters, yea i know great arnt thay, and as of today, i have no cover
  11. just the one pipe going to it, ive spoken to the people that provide cover for it and they say its not down to them, they are saying the switch is at fault. and im not covered for that.
  12. hi chesters, all i know is that the shower is connected to a switch in the airing cupboard, and it has its own shut off at the mains box, sorry i can be more detailed.
  13. Hi all i smell bad and i need a shower, one problem its broke, there is no power going to the shower at all, and the light on the power switch in the airing cupboard is very dim when switched on, about half as bright as when the shower worked, the switch has its own trip on the mains box (R40), is there a simple fix for this, please help, we all smell.

  15. when i was a kid, early 70`s, golden wonder had a bag of all bags, they where called "rock n rollers" they even had a snazzy add, a captain america lookalike, in a band, on stage, and the hook was "new from golden wonder there called rock n rollers......bet ya gonna like em" i loved that add more than the munchy balls they where selling, good campain this, they had coupons, so you save them up and send them off, and throught the post would come the best thing ever, those 28 days seemed like, well now looking back on it probably 28 days, but then it was a life time, but eventually the post man came, my mum ran to he door to meet him, (she was a lonely lady) my dad was always working( i saw him working alot in the Earl of Essex, mannor park) he actually worked for the railways, so when i saw drunk irish men talking to themselfs on the train i asumed they where busy contemplating how to shift a sleeper without waking them up(god rest there soles) so, anyway, mum got the post, and woke me up, and handed me a great big brown parcell, inside was a poster of the rock god "rock n Roller" a floppy single, with the theme tune to the add, and a badge, ROCK N ROLL, just recently ive been singing the theme tune to the add, and i have searched every avenue available to try and find the add, youtube, google and all the usual searches have come up a blank, i emailed golden wonder, now non existent but they got back (somehow) saying they have gone bust and have no records of said product. do any of you remember Rock N Rollers, any links, your help would be most rock n rolled upon. yours gray
  16. i really like it, and really hate it, i am a smoker, despite my may attempts at giving up, i have met loads of folk outside pubs that i probably wouldnt have normally spoke to, so thats not bad, what is bad is, being a member of a few very busy bands, we are in pubs and clubs all the time and not being able to smoke while sorting things out is bad enough, but, it really has put the mockers on local live music, i wouldnt say all, but in general there are a hell of alot of smokers that go to gigs, they pay a fiver to go in, to see a few bands but have to spend alot of time outside having there smokes, and its horrible playing when people are in and out all the time, you can never quite tell if they think your shite or they just want a ciggy lolol, but in general i think it can only be a good thing, it is nice walking in to a pub and it not stinking of stale tobaco, i do find it a bit easier than some though as i dont smoke indoors at home havnt done for years.

  22. Hi all sorry for the late report, stuff n fings you know. had a cracking time, we had so many double fig fish we lost count, and non of us are out and out carp fellas, but we all hit 20+ my best was 23.12, as was pauls wife dians, pauls best was 22.04 and his uncle jims was 21.02, had countless tench to 4lb, wonderfull, one day we had a three hour match, and all got over 10lb of small carp and nice rudd, unfortunatly no catfish or sturgeon showed, but what a lovely place, here are some pics the lake me and 23.12 lil fella our house for the week the devils table on our way home we visited Pegasus bridge, the cafe is still run by the same family as it was when the bridge and the cafe was liberated by john howard and his men 5th/6 June 1944. Major John Howard the cafe this is one of the guns looking back towards the cafe and this is an original picture from the cafe side, you can see the glider , also, where the geep is, is where the first man fell, The lift bridge spanning the Orne Canal was captured by British 6th Airborne Division glider troops in the first few minutes of D-day. The three Horsa gliders, visible in the top right brought Major John Howard and his troopers in on time, accurately placing them in position to seize the bridge by rapid surprise. Lt. Den Brotheridge, the first allied death on D-day was killed where the Jeep is standing as he and his men rushed across the bridge from the eastern side. A Bedford 4x4 engineer's truck is returning from the airborne headquarters area to secure supplies from Sword Beach. The drivers, although in Europe, are still driving on the left side as in England. the company was great, the fishing was great, but, my limited time in france only gave me grace to see one place, and i can say i was touched by what i saw on the pegasus bridge.
