i find the best way to put line on is to put your reel on the but section of a rod, and pass it through the first eye, then, have someone hold the spoole facing you, with a few fingers keeping the tention up a bit, and wind away, this way it realy goes on as it comes off, then soak the spool in water overnight. also, dont buy cheep line, may seem a bargain at the time but you will spend a good part of your time untangling, instead of angling. there is no doubt these flavouring are great, and work wonders. but i find that using new flavours and even shapes, can be a killer, just recently ive been using cats and dogs pellets, very small, and ideal for poping up when feeder fishing, in the space of a few weeks, i hade to change flavours, initialy i was using the bream pellets(very sweet smelling) then they died a death, went on to strawberry, they to lasted only a week or so, went to the monster crab(smell like crap), same results, great for a short while, now im back on the bream pellets, working a treat. this is all on a relitavly small water, where fish can become wary after a short period, its all about variaty, we buy the stuff, so you can hardly say the manufacturors are trying to rip us off. please excuse the spelling, ive had a few and im freezing cold, got a bad thumb, and now ive got to go out and get even more drunk than i already am see ya chaps. -

fantastic dai, i had around fifteen carp, from 5-16lb, my uncle had around 20, my mate gary only had four but he also had a nice bream of 3.5lb. one word of warning, dont put your pole down, not even for a second, i did, and lost a power top two, and the top section of my pole rendering it useless, all the lads where taking the micky, as my pole was wandering around the lake, they where all going oi mate thats a big float, and, i think youve got a bite mate, any way after ten mins of chasing it around, it dissapeared under the water, so i gave up, and proceded with feeder fishing. after and hour and a few more fish, i had a bite, pulled into the fish and started to play it, when all of a sudden, i saw the tip of my pole coming out of the water, i couldnt believe my luck, my uncle john managed to grab the tip, and passed the pole to me, at this point, the hook slipped from the elastic, and i proceded to land the fish on the pole, 9lb common, amazing luck, i was over the moon. this is the one that nearly got away cheers nick [ 06 April 2002, 06:57 PM: Message edited by: Gray-Catchpole ]
