Fishing marks in cornwall

Went down to the helford river . Fished a 1 up 1 down . with a 3oz flat weight . Ebb tide . just after dark . Sat chatting then corner of my eye saw the rod bend .. Beauty !!!!!!! 1 bite in 4 hours that fish made up for a lot of blanks

You bet , off again on Wednesday afternoon . A friend has lent me a carp rod . Going to have a play with some spinners and plugs . See if i can get used to it .

Put a bait down too as the bass come up on the flood + vice versa!!

Any ideas on good spinning fixed spools to go with the carp rod . Am going to use braid on it ( if that makes any difference ?)

I used to fish black head as a kid , fowey harbour . I hear Mevagissey is good bass ground

veals do the okuma range the amazonium is quite cheap but robust i use it with berkley fireline great braid. dont forget to put a short 1/2 metre length of mono on to stop trebles snaggin the braid if it folds back when casting. goodluck. give me a shout if u get stuck :cool:
