scales - are these any good

ive heard good things about the reuben heaton scales are these ones below any good ? im thinking of going for the 66lb version incase i catch a pike over 33 :D ive tried a few scales in the past and they are never accurate, latest ones weigh 2.5lb as 4lb ive tried adjusting, zeroing, tightening and they just dont work and i know my weights are spot on.

and also. how the hell do these manufacturers get away with selling inacurate scales!

Spring tube ones are notoriously unreliable / inaccurate. You're far better off getting some dial type ones - either avons for up to 40lb, or reubens or Nash ones for 56lb +.

 

They will cost you more but are far more accurate. But does absolute accuracy really matter to you ? If you're not bothered 1/2 or 1 lb either way then stick to the cheaper spring ones.

Reuben scales have been used as far as I am aware for all nationals and internationals for EVER!! Guess what i would buy were I so inclined Andy!?
