starting out?

Having only coarse fished for the last 25yrs i thought it about time to have a crack at fly fishing.Whats the best way to start off?,and what kit would get me started?,thanks.

before you invest any money, get a lesson and get some idea of what rod you would like to use. a good tutor will let you try a range of rods and you'll get some idea what you should be after.

where do you live?

near rutland, graham, pitsford etc, some good still water fly fishing near you! check out those waters, or local tackle shops for a decent instructor

The shop guys at Rutland are good, they,ll take time with you and show you whats what. Also if you ask they might point you in the direction of Dave , he,ll be able to put you on to fish,failing that theres usually the odd fish in the harbour. Look at the posts that were in severn wolfs post about the teme the same brands but 7/8 weight should do the job. If its stillwater trout then 10 ft rods are the most adaptable, if its rivers as well 9ft6 is a reasonable compromise. Tell us where your fishing and well try and sort out some flies etc
