Daphnia

Trout either take a fly because it imitates food or stimulates agression. If they are feeding on daphnia, you'll never take them with an imitation until they produce a size 40 hook. Instead try for the other reason, I have found an orange lure works (goldhead tadpole is my preference) but if they are in that kind of mood, it will be hard work anyway.
