orange additive

Recommended Posts

On Saterday i went to a local aquiriam centre to buy some fish food for my pond.

Always have a look at what fish they have in and I noticed in most of tanks oranges halfs and quaters had been put in.

All of the fish that where in the different tanks where going mad eating the the orange.

I got talking to this sexy assistant and she said they are doing it because they had seen this in a Koi breeders magazine.

She told me that she has been doing this to supplement there food for a couple months, And all the specisies they stock eat the oranges within 10 minuets of the orange being put in the tanks.

Eating all the flesh and leaving the skin on the orange.

These included Koi carp, sturgeon and the small gold fish.

Has any one tried using orange as a additive or flavouring.

Speek to you soon stevie :):D:)

Stevie,

I have read about feeding Koi Carp oranges, lettuce & other assorted fruit & veg.

Can I get my pond full of Carp & goldfish etc to eat the stuff?...not a chance & I've really tried!!!

Consequently, I would have no confidence whatsoever using natural orange in any form. :(

I suppose you might catch on a curiosity basis, but I fear that'll be the best it would do.

Peter.

The loose lines gone..STRIKE.
