Is this a good idea?

While feeding my greyhound the other day I had an idea of using the dog food I feed him for method mix. The brand is Chappie and when it is mixed up properly with a fork it makes this ideal looking brown goo. It looks a bit like mushy chopped up cardboard.

Basically I was wondering if this would be a safe bait to use, don't want to go polluting my club water now!

Any ideas?

Don't see why not Shooter, there is any amount of Cat & Dog foods, wet & dry, being used out there.

If you're worried about your club lake then like all other baits, weigh up the pro's & cons, ie fish stocks, size of lake, temperatures, amount of anglers who fish it & bait accordingly.

Don't just pile it in once you've found out the fish like it, if its a small lake you could create a lot of trouble for yourself & the fishery.

Peter.

Dam, you've stumbled on my secret bait. I've been using chappie for years. The carp love it (unfortunately so do the bream). I feed it straight out of the tin. And I stiffen it up with powdered mash to use as a paste.

Would never feed it to a dog though :)

Poor thing, give it some propper food LOL

Comes out looking the same as it goes in. :)

We feed our greyhound Wafcol Greyhound Maintenance with various tinned fish (sardines, mackeral, tuna etc) or whatever meat foods are on special when we go to the pet store (currently Pedigree chum). You're right though about the cow pat! And let's not get onto the subject of the ones that must have been going round her body 3 times to produce that length! :D
