Help! When should I fish different tides

Could anyone help a sea fishing novice. I will be on holiday for a week at the end of May near Rye (staying at Winchelsea beach) and am in need of some advice.

Are there any good spots to fish from the beach around that area and when is the best time to fish i.e high tide/low tide etc? Also can you lure fish this area as well or is it best just to fish say a standard 2 hook rig?

I would appreciate any help greatly as I have a very limited knowledge of sea fishing.

Thanks Nathan

A rule of thumb that is used a lot in Australia is: an hour either side of the bottom, or top of the tide, especially around the full moon period (4 days before FM to 4 Days after FM). This works really well when chasing predatorial fish due to the bigger tides around full moon.

As we say in Australia, "no run, no fun".
