I have for sale a couple of rods by this famed rod maker and have decided to list them on here for a couple of days before they go on e-bay so as to raise a goodly sum for the wife of a good friend of mine who died sometime ago.

His wife now requires me to sell the rods in order that she may enjoy herself a little on the proceeds.

The rods are (in no particular order).

"The number 18 Chris Yates Merlin," made for John Driver 1996 this rod is most likely unused.

"The Chris Yates Bishop" Made for John Driver 1997. This rod has been used. This is apparent from the cork being discoloured. The rod is in pristine condition.

The other rods are, "The perfection Barbel" made by Shaun Linley of Stour Provost for John Driver 1996. Again this rod has been used to good effect by it's owner (John) to land many a good fish!! Barbel were his "Favourite!" species. There is also a 10Ft 2 Piece Carp rod by Partridge of Redditch which is new and appears not to have been used either.

Other items are a Barder 2 piece landing net handle (New)(One recently changed hands on E-bay for £200+ and that was a used example) and a net of which I am not sure as to parentage?! But would be sold with the barder pole on an FOC basis. Gents please feel free to make an offer for these rods but please bear in mind where they came from and the circumstances under which they are for sale!! I would not in any case be looking seriously at any bid less than £700 for any of the barders!!

I will leave this on till Sunday next when I will be listing the rods on the open market so to speak!!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Just spotted this; don't suppose you could put up a piccie or two for the likes of me and Spindle to drool over??!! Price is a bit rich for me - lovely merchandise however......

As it happens Chaps my camera is poorly at present so I am unable to post any at present. This also means I am unable to list on E-bay so the rods are with me a little longer!!

I will in fact post the pictures along with a guide price so that you may indee have a Drool (or whatever it is you lads do for fun nowadays!! I remember in my day we were happy to justttt.......zzzzzzzz!!)

Yes that's a good idea. And we promise to take REEEEEAL good care of them, don't we Chris. Honest. :D

Yup - we'll even give 'em a try out on Edward's local stretch of River!!!

I am going to be in Gosport over the last weekend in may. If you can arrange to meet me and prove that you have the required insurance I am sure I could manage to le you have just a small play with them!? Give me ring.
