Starting pike'in

As the weather seems to be on the turn, I'd like to try some pike fishing. I've caught them before unintentionally, but not to any notable size. Could any of you lads recommend the standard kit, i.e. traces, rigs, line etc for say, static deadbaiting on Stillwater’s, or know of a good tutorial/web page for such?

If you're that much of a virgin Baker the best start you can get is finding another experienced piker to show you the ropes. Failing that theres a good intro to piking at http://www.maggotdrowning.com/fish/startin...ike_fishing.htm

Or you might look at the PAC GB site or Charlie Bettells site at www.esox.co.uk. They all contain loads of advice about most aspects of piking including 'safety' Thats both you and the fish.
