Waking the Dead

Did anyone see tonights programme?

What was the fishing gear all about then, he had a decent fixed spool that sounded like a cheap fly reel.

Was the fact that reels nowadays are virtually silent, too much for the sound effects people?

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

Seemed to be "working the fly" as well, but that is TV producers for you....and you know what I think of them and fishing

The only realistic portrayal of angling I have seen in a TV drama recently (ever), was in the episode of New Tricks, but it was written by Nick Fisher.

The Worst angling portrayal has to be Monarch Of The Glen. Two People standing next to each other on a small river in Inches of water casting 20 feet in front of them on a bright day with a crowd on the bank. They did hook two Salmon though.

There has been worse in earlier programmes to.
