Yes, I saw that awaaar. Incredible stuff. Transported back to the world of the 1950s. I thought such language and ideas had died the death long ago.

 

Interesting to learn that it wasn't the first time that Atkinson had been broadcast making racist remarks on air, and also interesting to learn that Ian Wright had already had a big falling-out with Atkinson, over the latter making a racist joke about three of his black players at WBA, that Ian Wright overheard. Shameful. Best to forget his appearance on that redneck Radio Station somewhere in the US. "A spectacular own-goal" the papers called it.
