Fluoro for Size 12's?

Hi All - can you help please?

I've yet to find a fluorocarbon line/hooklink that has a low enough diameter to enable me to tie a knotless knot where the line passes through the eye twice - the line is just too thick. The best I've found, and have been using, is 0.28mm dia and this is too thick. I've even just bough the new GURU QM1 hooks "designed for hair rigs" but the size 12's won't take the line twice. A quick search on the web suggests that 0.28mm is the smallest dia. available....

....does anyone know different? Or perhaps there's another method of putting a hair rig on a hook that doesn't need the line to pass thru the eye twice?

Yes, there's nothing to stop you tying the hair on separately.

I always do; I just tie off whatever I want on the end of the hair and then tie it to the hook with a Domhoff knot. (same as this but reversed because the line going to the reel here will be the end of my hair)

It sounds like the hooks you are using have too small an eye..I assume your 0.28 line is about 9lb breaking strain..I use Kryston Incognito 0.30mm/11lb and it easily passes twice through the size 12 hooks i use(drennan super specialist barbel/Korum seamless). You shouldn't have any problem with 0.28mm line if you find a hook with a decent sized eye. Also, try cutting your line at an angle with sharp scissors,,i've found this can help when using hooks with a small eye.. Have a look at these http://www.leslies-luton.co.uk/store/produ...Dia-0.25mm-50m/ http://www.korum.co.uk/hooks.php Edited by wellyphant
