But NOT as fast as a bloody pigeon!! At least in SA!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Doesn't say much for the computational capabilities of the IT company.

ADSL is really meant for RECEIVING files quickly, sending is not as good.

My current download speed according to my router is 5088 Kbps (Kilobits/s) but my UPLOAD speed is a mere 900 Kilobits per second.

A 4GB memory stick holds 33,554,432 Kilobits.

It would take me 37282 seconds to upload that lot under perfect conditions, whether it was going up the road to Shirley or half way round the world to Singapore.

37282 seconds is 621 minutes or about 10 hrs.

If we were to assume that the pigeon could fly at 30 miles per hour then sending 4GB within a radius of 300 miles of Southampton would probably be quicker by pigeon than by ADSL.

Your only about 215 Miles from me as the crow flies Chris, so if I had 4GB to send to you, it would be quicker by pigeon post than broadband, as long as some Froggie didn't gun it down en route.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

LOL @ "We're suffering very high packet loss near our local shooting range in our IP/Avia network."
