Any vessel has to take care plus extra security off the horn of Africa.

 

But a yacht !!!!!!!!!!!!! :wallbash:

 

They were plain dumb sailing though those waters in the first place. . . asking for trouble . . and they got it.

To be fair, they were best part of 1000 miles off the coast. You'd think you'd be safe that far away.

 

.......looks like kayaking 2 miles from Kings Lynn could be a bit iffy ;)

Do you know how far the Seychelles are from Somalia? It's about 600 miles. Anyone wanting to sail from the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean has to pass a damned sight closer than that! If you look at their course it's hard to see how they could give the Somalia a wider berth, unless you say the whole of Africa is now out of bounds.

This problem has been caused by people paying ransoms. If the first pirates who tried it had been blown to bits there would never have been any more! Instead those fannies in the UN have been umming and aahing about what to do for four years.
