Personally I'd contact the A.C.A (Anglers Conservation Association) if I were you Craig. They are remarkably effective at dealing with pollution cases.

i have had enough of contacting the environment agency about the state of my local river that was once a very good trout stream but is now polluted by  the local factorys i have contacted the ea to see what they are doing about this and am getting no responce   :mad:      :mad:      :mad:      :mad:      :mad:

just conacted my local mp about this matter lets see if anything happens now?

having spotted a company discharging at night many years ago i got intouch with the rivers authority who completly ignored me ,the best way i found was to get a picture of the incident and send it to your local paper with a sample of the water this tends to get their attention (the company has now gone and fish are found in the stream)

things nowadays seem to be a lot better and fines are getting stiffer (although still miserably small)... name and shame is the best aproach

Being the Sports Developmen Officer for our society I am always in contact with our local office and have found some problems like you discribe.

If you go on the E.A. website and click on your backyard it should give you the local office addy and list the contact name for the E.P.A. Officer for your area.

It is his legal obligation to investigate ALL WRITTEN COMPLAINTS.

Contacting the local press is a great way of embarrassing Councils/politicians into actually doing something.
