Excellent service from Okuma spares

The front drag knob of my Okuma Epix Pro reel loosened sufficiently to plop into the pond last week...

An enquiry on getting a replacement was mailed to uk@svendsen-sport.com on Tuesday afternoon, this was passed on to repairs.uk@svendsen-sport.com within 10 minutes, and a reply sent back to me within the hour "Let me know your address and I will drop one in the post, we do not charge for small parts.". The part arrived 2nd class mail on Saturday morning, free of charge, not even postage/packing to pay. Excellent service (but a shame about the design flaw).

Shame about the fault but is good that they are willing to do that for you.

I don't understand how it's a fault. It's a front drag reel. How can you fish without checking the drag?? Surely if it was that loose, the spool would rotate freely.

 

I'm not criticising anyone. I just don't understand how that would occur.
