Unemployed, wife and kids= well over £100 a week.

 

The fact that if you call the EA they will deal with pollution is not a good reason for anglers to pay a license. The EA should deal with the pollution as a matter of law, regardless of who calls them.

 

The only valid reason as far as I am concerned is that hopefully it will give us some clout if it comes to a fight. That reason is good enough for me.

I've got a great deal of time for the EA Fisheries staff. For instance they've done several surveys for me at Wingham. What's more one of them involved working to 11.00 at night. The cost - nothing!

 

When the survey on my 40 acre lake showed nothing but predators they also offered me fish for restocking free of charge. I turned them down as I wanted "pedigree" fish, but it could have saved me a small fortune. The availability of free fish is of course limited, but is offered to many clubs etc whose waters are understocked. It's just one of the many services that your rod licence pays for.
