Sensas Shot Question

Hi All

I've just got back from france and bought some Sensas stuff. I bought some Sensas green (Sensas Verte) shot in a range of sizes and on closer inspection the BBs and larger shot look smaller that normal for their equivalent size here in the UK e.g. Anchor/dinsmores. This has me wondering - does anyone know if these are actually lead as opposed to safe shot- do the french still use lead? any help appreciated. If they are then I've just wasted a few Euros!

Take a large shot and hit it with a hammer.

If you squash the shot and it is silver inside

it is lead.

You cant squash most of the shot in the UK because

of the alloys etc they are made of.

Yes they still use lead in france, that's how matt hayes got caught out using it here, he used shot that he'd picked up in france.

Ditch it or save for your hols, but if you value a clean criminal record...don't use it.

Thanks Phil - Thought I'd better check - I also value my health as well!

Yes it will be lead. I bought some from Cyprus and that was lead.

You can use lead if it's size 8 and under I think but don't quote me.

Note for ferret 1959, you can't use lead leger weights either!

From the EA web site :-

"No fishing weights made of lead may be used except those of 0.06 grams or less and those of more than 28.35 grams.

In angling terms this means that lead shot from size 14 to size 8 and lead weights of over 1 ounce can be used in fishing.

While lead dust shot (size 8 and smaller) are legal, they are toxic to birds if ingested. Use spillproof containers for lead dust shot and always dispose of used lead safely at home."
