Hmmm theres a couple there that I might just have a bid at...

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical

minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which

holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd

by the clean end"

Cheers

Thanks for finding this Elton - I'm assuming part 1 has already gone for auction - pity! I'm going to go to one of the viewings after work - there are some advantages of working in London.

Chris,

Let us know how the viewings go. It would be great to find out how this auction progresses.

Tight lines,

Elton

PS Tell them you found it on Anglers' Net :D

I'm off to view this tomorrow after work and am planning on leaving a few bids and have a thoroughly good nose around - anyone else planning on bidding??

Well I had a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours yesterday evening having a jolly good browse - it felt a bit like being able to handle the exhibits in a museum - particularly some of the really early stuff - one book was from 1554 - beautifully bound but all in Latin.

Apparently the game books went for a premium at the first sale but the coarse books went quite cheaply. I left a few bids on a Sheringham, a couple of Ransome's, a BB and a Richard Walker - can't wait to find out if I'll get any...

Elton - I mentioned AN - the auctioneer said he got in touch with you after seeing a review of the site in the Telegraph a few weeks back...

B*gger - I had it at home - thrown it way now - I think it was in some leisure supplement (not a mag - it was newsprint). I'll have a rummage in the recycling bin to see if I can recover it this evening.
