Are you an angler, or a fisherman?

Hello to All,

As one who has fished for over 40 years, I am Happy to be called a FISHERMAN. Yet the term seems to point directly at the commercial side of the fence. I admire the true fisherman as they make it possible for us to enjoy the variety that each of us has taken for granted. I grew up eating fish and still eat fish today, but I have been fishing for the Enjoyment of it since I was taken by my parents many years ago. Today I wear the term of Angler as I have become more of a conservationist with many species. I proudly wear it as I am now more aware of the need to pass it on to the younger generation so that our SPORT can live on. Call me Angler or Fisherman but, continue to allow us the Pleasure of the sport. :)

Peter,

Been angling for last 10 days. In the commercial world in the US there used to be a big big difference. Not so much anymore, at least I don't see the bar room fights over the terms anymore. FISHERMEN were those who used means other than rod and reel, sold the catch, and couldn't or wouldn't be very mindful of the effect their profession had on the environment. Anglers were sissys who caught their fish one at a time on a rod and reel. Trawlers were shrimp or shell fishermen. AND a test. What were the fellows who ran the lobster pots?

Hi Phone, glad you're back. A big BIG thanks for the catalogue, much appreciated, it really was. Eye opening prices!

So, tell us, prey, about your ten day fishing trip. The weather here is nothing special so brighten up our dull lives and make us dead envious! :):):)
