There's loads of places around Shrewsbury that have camping/caravaning & free fishing on the severn.

Not a lot i know but i reckon he could take a drive around there & find somewhere pretty easy.

having done that last year :D a few tips :

join the camping and caravan club you will get a huge free book with all the info you need if your camper is over 18feet long then the rac and aa wont be able to transport it anywere (look in the rules) use the number in the c&c book to get a special rac deal that WILL transport your van in case of breakdown :)

a couple are (book early) peterborough (lots of onsite lakes "not suitable for kids" )01778 560607 mrs wyman

and spalding (little holland drain) * not suitable for under 12`s 01406 540435 mr smith

these are taken from last years book there are hundreds more

if he can give me a more detailed destination then i`l look :) as your kids are older than 12 then they may be welcome ,other animals may not be ask ,

remember these are from last years book the sites may have changed :)

Many thanks for your help. Tried to book on Docklow Pools but they do not allow children on under 14 years of age. Managed to book on Hallcroft fisheries at Retford Notts. after seeing their advert in the caravan book as suggested by one of the replies. Thanks once again

 HAPPY FISHING

thanks for your thanks ,and if your joining a club its the "C&C club" not the other one "CC" ,i reconmend the C&C book as it is 100 times better ( not advertising ,informing )and if your down guildford way then the c&c site at east horseley has a pond onsite ,if your lucky you can park 20feet from it :) strange bait rules and season though :) lots of hardfighting mini carp :) 14lb biggest last year but great on float tackle :)

This is the phone number for Baston Fen. If the lakes are closed because of the gravel working, I assume that the campsite must be as well.
