Other than the gold plated CDL models I thought my collection was complete,But another one pops up! Sadly well out of my price range but nice to see the world of ABU collecting is still alive and thriving!

How come all the bids except the first £1 one (conspicuous optimism in the face of overwhelming common sense) were all from tha same bidder? Shouldn't his first bid (£100) have won it at £1.20? I was unaware you could bid against yourself and raise the price!

It will happen if there is a reserve on the item until the reserve is met.

 

If the buyer had placed in initial maximum bid of 1000 pounds, the bid amount would instantly have jumped to the reserve amount and any further bidding would have been normal but this bidder placed nibbling bids so each one recorded as the bid amount.
