Is it just me or when anyone else buys a large item of tackle its a certain blank on the time out with it. I bought myself a 40inch landing net today been fishing for carp more lately had a 15lb and it only just went in old net.

First session with new net today BLANK!

I'm back is fishing like riding a bike? you never forget how?

I recently purchased some new rods. First time out with them not only did I catch on both rods, but I actually christened one of the rods within a few minutes of my first cast, landing a nice carp of 7 or 8 lbs.

 

Very unusual for me I should add, the blanking scenario you describe is more the norm.

I won a Daiwa Whisker carp rod in an AT comp back in January. Used it half a dozen times since and caught nothing on it so far :confused: :confused:
