drennan hook tyer

i cant seem to tie the knots on it have any of you got one if so could you tell me how to use them please

ill be happy to but first i need to know exactly which type of hook tyer it is.....the one i know has a screw that tightens the hook in the clamp and U shaped peice of metal that passes through the body of the tyer.....if its that one, ill get back to you, cos ill have to draw a diagram etc and it will be lengthy.

 

these hook tyers are great tho and i find them really quick to use and make tying small spade hooks easy.

This is the one your'e on about Budd, I have one , I had the black one first, but found the drennen one better.I'm hopeless at describing how to use it, you should have had a little instruction card with it when you bought it. Just remember to keep the line tight, but not too tight, from spool to hook, and twist the tool itself about six times, then wet the knot with your tongue before you pull it through. I practiced with large hooks and thick line till I got it right. good luck.
