Putting Line on your reel

I tend to find that if you stand spool of line on the floor directly under the last eye of your rod do not let the spool roll all over the floor and dont keep the tension on the line to tight as it goes on the reel . but as to which line is best i think that is down to personal prefrence and to what situation you are fishing and for what species .

I have read somewhere that when putting line on a multiplier you should face the spool to the reel and ensure that the line comes off the spool in the same direction as the it is being wound onto the reel – or something like that  , can anybody confirm please?

Roger.
