Bivvys- any advice?

Hi and thanks for reading this post.

I'm looking to buy a bivvy and would welcome any advice you may be able to give me.

I've read through lots of promotional literature which has left me none the wiser and rather confused. Here are my requirements:

1/ Summer/ early Autumn use

2/ One man only

3/ Short session use only (overnight)

4/ Compact when not assembled

Price is an issue and I'm tempted by one of the budget domes available for as little as £45.00. I will spend more though, say up to £100 if I can see a real benefit of doing this.

I would welcome any advice you can give, either on design/ features to look out for, or on specific models.

Thanks in advance.

Ric

i think its a case of getting what you pay for ,if its just occasional summer overnight use then the cheaper end but if its going to be for long stay or bad weather use the higher end ,there are some reasonable mid range ones for less than 100 ,i am sure the cypry (or equivelant)has a few followers on here :)

also check the colour ,our club now only allows greens (it was beginning to turn into a camp site) with the onslaught of tents etc :D

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

I know this is not a full blown Bivvy, but the Fox Stalker Bivvy is ideal for what you do.

It rolls up to the size of an umbrella and justy about weighs the same. It is a single skin design with sides and a see thro' door.

I use mine for one nighters and for fishing on the rivers over night.

Have to admit that I would not use it in the winter as condensation would be a big problem, but generally it is perfect for what you do
