Jim,my first visit to Elphicks was because my brother-in law who was returning to fishing after 15 years wanted somewhere where he and his son (6 years old) could catch a few fish.

Im not pointing the finger at all, cos best of luck to the little kiddy, but all im saying is that all this astro turf is getting a bit beyond a joke. so what if the lakes are all muddy!

I was reading about this place in Anglers Mail yesterday... my first though was:

 

A place where it's impossible to blank? Where's the fun in that?

 

It was then I remembered fishing as a kid, when I'd have begged 50p of my mum for a 1/4 pint of maggots and I'd freeline them in the local pond to catch tiny perch and roach - I never once 'blanked' that I can remember, at least until disease killed all the perch - is there a real difference? I don't think so ;-)
