Being as you asked for the ultimate and not personal goals it has to be a record eel by design. Do'nt think anything else comes close.

 

That was one of the things that I was thinking about when I started the thread. Where would you even begin to start to find one, even a high single figure eel is a mighty challenge. To get a double by design really is needle in haystack stuff except chances are you would not even know if a water contained them or not. I think big eel fishing is one of the last great unknown challenges that fishing offers in the UK.

the lake that i am currently fishing has done a record eel. and the carp anglers said the few that i had were small in comparison to some of the fish that they have had. very few grayling in waters round were i live that i have acsess to i woul;d also like to catch a slamon and a char

A stillwater chub from a certain local pond, i've been trying on and off for ages but haven't had one yet, only a matter of time though after a lot of trial and error i seem to have the method/tactics sussed it's just a case of getting the time to fish for them.

 

Also a 2lb+ Perch.

 

My first tench and pike would be nice.

 

Not in a rush though, it'll come with time :)

Chub on poppers/floaters in the summer

 

Try one of these or a heddon baby torpedo. Both are top surface producers for chub.

I got my June frogs by another name in the UK and I had some cracking chub (to over 5lbs) on a black one last year - can't remember where or what they were calling them though.

 

As ever, fish at distance if possible because chub are greedy and dumb but they are spooky as hell - especially on the top.
