Recieved from Sussex Sea Anglers Network:

Rother District Council have now agreed to receive the petition at the Town Hall steps in Bexhill-on-Sea.

Here are the details:

Date: Friday 27th May 2011

Time: 16.30 (4.30pm)

Place: Rother District Council offices - Bexhill-on-Sea Town Hall.

A map can be seen by following this link: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&xh...sa=N&tab=wl

It would be good for as many anglers as possible to get along arriving no later than 16.00 (4pm) to meet the local press, take pictures, make some noise etc.

Excellent and so they should, I can’t believe these people had the gall to say they wouldn’t receive the petition in the first place.

Wrote to them asking for justification, evidence of proposing a ban for angling and bait digging in those two areas, over and above problems that arn't covered under common law. They have promised me a reply before the consultation date runs out.

It has me wondering why this council feels that this is a special case, or have they just jumped on some form of p.c. or health and safty bandwaggon.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Here we go, this is the evidence that they are using.

Comments please, before i reply, i'm already doing a draft in me old grey matter. :)

Looks like they are reserving an area for some while excluding others, and flotsum and jetsum spring to mind here as well, along with tide action.

Dear Mr Luxton

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000

With reference to your request received on 15 April 2011 about Bexhill and Camber seashore byelaws, the Amenities Division have provided the following information.

The restrictions proposed in the draft Byelaw relate only to sections of the beach designated as award beaches between the Sailing Club and the Metropole Green (about 500m out of almost 5km). To suggest that the Council is seeking to ban fishing on Bexhill sea front is extremely misleading for the general public.

Conflicts between fishermen and other beach users are an ongoing and an annual problem. The main conflict is between fisherman casting into areas where swimming is taking place and the danger to the public using the beach behind the fishermen, again during the casting operation.

These instances often require the intervention of the Councils Coastal Officer and in some cases the Coast Guard. Incidences are more frequent on hot sunny days when the beach is more crowded and families are swimming in the sea. Bexhill beach from Channel View East to the Metropole is designated as a swimming beach in the Quality Coast Awards.

Due to the mobile nature of beach management and patrol it is not feasible or practical to record every incident involving fishermen, individuals or other group. There are, therefore, no official statistics available. We have recently been handed a collection of abandoned or lost hooks and other fishing equipment by a supporter of the Byelaws.

You may use our internal complaints procedure if you are dissatisfied. If you are still dissatisfied you may appeal to the Information Commissioner. Please contact Anne Bruin, Team Leader - Customer Services, if you wish to complain.

What a frickin' joke! They have no evidence, because there is no evidence! If that letter is indicative of the standard of employee there, you have my sympathy. Frankly, it's pathetic.
