What a catch.....!!!

As I was leaving home this morning, that Aussie tw*t Rex *unt was on a beach somewhere winding in his latest yabada yabada capture.

When he eventually pulled it out of the surf it was a fecking huge hammerhead shark!!About ten feet long, thrashing around and extremely annoyed....It was eventuyally wrestled back into the sea, having been kissed on it's stalky eye by the aforementioned t*at.

Makes you think really. You don't tend to get many hammerheads in the Avon but I live in hope. May have to up my gear though......

ohhhhhhhhh come of it, Rex Hunt is not a *wat! He's full of enthusiasm, entertaining and, for a colonial, a pretty good angler. Austrailia's answer to Des Taylor surely. I mean, you can't expect colonials, or ex colonials for that matter, to quite meet our standards can you now ! And Rexy doesn't rely on bolt rigs and bite alarms to do his angling for him now!!

Very true Pete. The man is a legend. It's just the continued yibiddia yibbida and fish kissing that does it for me. He has his own unique language and style. The hammerhead thing was jaw-droppingly awesome whichis why I posted in the first place really. What flavour boilie do you reckon he got it on?

A few people on a couple of forums i've read are not impressed with his fish handling though when he de-hooks etc.

I like the fact he uses simple methods and agree with Peter on that.

 

However...

 

He's a sexist and very patronising to women he fishes with (when he does).

He does not treat fish nicely at all.

Not sure how he would have got the hammerhead to settle on an unhooking mat though. It looked pretty lively......

Say what you will about rex hunt, but the Aussie's (and I work with 8 of them) generally credit Rex with getting the catch-and-release concept accepted amongst Aussie anglers.

 

As for sexist and patronising, it's probably a culture thing, or living around here, maybe not.
