To get Hemp (or any other bait that is not purely for fishing, such as dog/cat bikies, wheat etc) go to a pet shop, or large wholesalers. it's cheep cheep !!

The two best times to go fishing are when it's raining and when it's not

About 20 minutes, or until it starts to split and you can see small white shoots on the seeds.

If you are using it for groundbaiting it's not that critical to get it spot on, but if you want to use hemp for hookbait try not to overcook it, put some cold water in the pan when about a third of the kernels have split to stop further cooking, but don't throw the water away - you need to keep the hemp wet or it will float, and the water has lots of oils and flavours in that you want in your groundbait.

on still water the roach etc seem to still go potty for old squishy hemp that is weeeelll past its sell by date.

It does take a strong nerve, a steady hand and no sense of smell to handle it though.

It seems to be that same with sweet corn.
