Method mix?

Hi,can anyone tell my how to make a simple method mix?,any help would be appreciated,cheers.

there was an article (acording to a friend) in either the Times or mail where you can make a years supply or more of method mix for £50. This could be good if u use the method alot.

 

 

Other than that use ordinary groundbait and add a binder. you can get them from most tackle shops.

A good additive is fishmeal. Id reccomend it in any mix.

Nursejudy - as I understand it, in the UK ya'll use a gadget sorta somehow afixed to the rig to hold the method mix whereas groundbait does not go on the ground unless you've really messed up. It goes in a tidy pile on the water's bottom. As opposed to loose feed that does not go in a tidy pile but is pretty much scattered higgly-piggly over an area of the water.

 

The "method feeders" that hold the method mix are designed to release little bits of it and the smell of it slowly. And there are at least 73 varieties of method feeders including the stainless steel ones (with camo covering) that Gaffer favors.

 

And please don't confuse the method feeder with a packbait (US) or mielie bomb (OZ) where there is a method mix but it gets packed around the hookbait and soon turns to groundbait.

Billy Bob, it depends what kind of fishing your doing. If your trying to catch specimin carp then check the recipes on the session carp forum but if you are after small to medium size carp on the commercials try Sensas Crazy Bait Gold mixed 50/50 with brown crumb and mix it the night before you go. Use whatever is catching on the hook or double dead red maggot is always good with the method feeder.
