making braid sink better?

Washing up liquid is good to de grease mono to help it sink better but unless youve got "sinking" braid it wont help you as the material most braids are made from floats naturally.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

most braids are either floating braids or sinking braids ,after a quick search it seems preston braidcast is a sinking line and should sink fairly quickly ,especially if being used for ledgering (any braid will sink ,if your ledgering) sinking braid will lie flatter too the bottom where floating braids tend too hang in the water a bit if left slack .

giving braid a skirt of watered down washing up liquid will help it sink through the surface tention better (as it does with mono) but really shouldn't be needed ,as most sinking braids are of a mixed fibre (poyester & (dyneema) nylon) and the polyester takes on water better than dyneema making it sink .

You could try WD40. Sounds counter intiutive but it makes dry flys sink like a stone.
