How old do you think this is?

I went dead baiting on one of my local canals after a jack or two and landed a snig (eel) of 3lbs 8 oz it took my secret bait and it had a massive head and mouth.I am just wondering how old a snig of this size would be ? By the way he or she went back alive.

Could be 20 to 30 years old.

well done and nice to know she went back,

I say she as usually eels over the 2lb mark are female.
