Rake the swim (if you're allowed)

You will find Tench have certain patrol routes and favourite feeding grounds. Find these and you find the fish. Tench give themselves away when feeding, look for the bubbles of feeding fish or use a rod of about 3-4lb test curve with a large weight on it to find clearings or features like gravel bars. Spend some time watching the water rather than fishing it. Believe me it will pay off. Once you know where they feed pre bait and hopefully your problems are solved. I hope this helps

The best Tench or Crucian carp tip ever is to fish at the crack of dawn as the sun comes up.

This is the time of day when they have a feeding frenzy.

Best place to put bait/fish is along the marginal shelf.

another thing i do is get a can of sweetcorn and a couple of hand fulls of micro trout pellet (like swim stim) throw it all in a blender wizz it all up till it goes like a porridge and use that as a ground bait, works well for me also a killer for carp

I know a few tench waters where the feeding totally switches off after 9/10 ish and you will be lucky to get a bite. It pays to get up early when after old tinca.
