Geo caching is were people leave a small hidden item all over the world and leave hints on the above website on how to find it.

 

was surprised with this, theres a few within 150 feet of where i live

 

thought some might find it interesting and i think im gonna give it a go.

you can use your car sat nav as a crude cache finder

Sat navs can be used but I rate them at no 3 on accuracy, 1st being a handheld gps such as a garmin etrex and 2nd an iphone with an app

 

So if you are looking at urban micro/nano/undefined caches I would recommend a good gps unit

 

Rural large or regular caches don't need to be as accurate as they are generally easier to find

Be wary if you decide to go down the urban route as people have been prosecuted for hiding 'suspicious packages' in town centres. It sounds harmless enough until someone spots you placing a box under a rubbish bin for example, and mr plod is called in.

Hopefully prosecuted party will have this removed shortly all being well.

 

The unfortunate issue that Rob is inferring to, has taken the shine of caching for Dales family, but hopefully this will make other police forces more aware of the sport and this issue will not happen again and we will be back hunting again shortly.

 

Although we have friends who live near Glasgow we have never cached there so not sure what the standard of caches are like and the hardness of them.
