Jumping the gun!

Tuesday evening my wife and I went off up river to a local boozer. About three miles I suppose, fish finder on, searching for bream. Idea being that we would come out of the pub about 11 and I would drop her off & return to where we'd found a bream shoal.

 

There must have been atleast 30 anglers all fishing, three hours before the 'off'! No, they weren't doing any harm. Okay, so their sporting values are different to mine but it is still not right! Bit like kids opening their Christmas pressies on Christmas Eve because they couldn't wait till Xmas day.

It'd ruin it for me. I can't see the point in starting early, after all the anticipation of that first cast of the season is part of the ritual

Three hours,three days or three months its still early,if they are prepared to do that most/some of them forgot to get their licence as well?

I think the closed season should be optional on the rivers then nobody would be starting early at my place.

with peter on this one, the season is very simple it start on the 16th juune not the 15th june. If people cant wait 3 hours untill they can legally fish then they got a problem.

I wonder if the EA have a more higher profile on the weeks running up to the season, like catching people fishing in the closed season
