I'm not in your area so I can't reply directly but exactly what rules are stopping you from lure fishing ?

Is the restriction on all lure fishing or just on lure fishing for pike ?

If its the latter, is there anything stopping you lure fishing for perch ? or chub ?

Are you aiming to fish stilwaters or rivers ? Rivers generally have a lot less restrictions.

If all else fails, you always have the option of chasing bass in the summer months.

Thats not laughin' at your question aaronlee', which is a fair enough one (that I can't answer) just the timing, have a look around the contemporary threads esp 'perch season' for an explaination.
