First Day Of Whitby Angling Festival On Sea Urchin

There was some good cod up to 8 pounds from the inshore grounds for sea urchin on their 3 hour trip and if you look on the pictures you can see just how close skipper Mick was working yesterday. The inshore waters at Whitby must be stuffed with big fish at the moment as Paul Kilpatrick confirmed his bigger fish yesterday came from only a mile out, and a local kayak angler caught a 12 pound cod only a few days previous.

This fish was caught yesterday and takes the lead in the species section where the fish are rated as a percentage of the national record. Who knows what species this is ??
