Trolling at gloaming

The half hour after sun set can be excellent. But try trolling on into the night, especially moon lit nights. In my part of the world we have shoals of bream that come up to the surface at night. When that happens you can smell them quite clearly. The pike will circle the shoals. Trolling a surface lure around the often quite tightly packed prey fish can be mind blowing.

Despite never really rating night time piking in general I must agree with Petes coments. Two friends of mine have had a lot of sucsess trolling live baits at night on a local reservoir that one of them bailiffs on.Notr just at "last nockings" I hasten to add but well into the night.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
