boat liscences

i want to get a 2man dingy for my local river,nothing fancy,maybee with a small engine or even one without.

I was just wondering if I need a liscence to have 1?

Keep my boat on the broads, it costs me £44 for the year on a 11 foot dinghy with an electric outboard.

Check with your local Environment Agency office. If its the norm that a licence is required for your local river then size in this case doesn't matter, you will still be liable for dues, probably at the lowest rate. But you'll still usually be liable, even if oars are your only motive power.

electric outboards will have cheaper tax on them. on the broads it use to cost me 40 somthing a year then with electric it went down to 20, i think on most rivers theres some sort of tax to pay
