Marzi....better yet, go a car boot sale and get you own 'bait blender' ....saves big grief from the other non angling half

Tony U:

Animal feed chandlers or fish breeders sell cheap trout pellets at less than the rate you would pay from the bait specialists, some advertise on the web. So baiting up with them is not as an expensive as an option as you would think.

I agree with Tony pet food suppliers are a very cheap place for trout, carp pellets and hemp. The one I use also does brown/white groundbait in bulk. I use this to bulk up the more expensive pre packed groundbait. Also for carp you can use bird feeds like pigeon conditioner or use goat feed (the flake type). These can be bought in bulk also.

They are not as cheap as mills. Most buy from their local mill.

Its easier (and saves money on divorce lawyers)to buy trout pellet powder from you tackle shop. Its cheap and the advantage is it lasts forever until you mix it with water, so you can have some in your bag and make a paste on the bank if you need some

The only other benefit of making the paste from pellets is if you want to avoid the high-oil varieties. I'm not sure that you can get carp pellets as a powder (but it may be that I just haven't spotted it).

Yorkshire Geezer:

Also im sick of seeing the tv anglers baiting up with these expensive pellets and making us believe we wont catch much unless we follow there example.

Now wait a minute.

Are you trying to tell me that cheap baits (as in, baits I don't pay much for) can catch fish? Catch as well as the really expensive (so gotta be good) ones the big name guys use?

You is one of two things, clever or sarcastic.

Which one is it newt?

I was warned when i joined this forum that i would get sarcasm, abuse but also help and laughter and a very enjoyable experiance.

What the point of posting namby pamby questions all the time when questions that get a healthy debate going are the most read and best posted.

So newt what baits do you use , tackle shop bought stuff or supermarket baits?

I do buy the odd bait from tackle shops like powdered trout pellet i can add to my home made paste so im not saying all tackle shop bought bait a no no.
