  1. This is the club website Big Waters Angling Club if you look there are some contact details for the club who I am sure will give you some pointers. Hope this helps Marzi
  2. HI Burton, There is an artical in Improve Your Coarse Fishing for carp poles under £250. The best two poles that came out of the test: Maver Nebula Power 13m £250 inc 2x Power Top 2 and cupping kit Shimano XTA Competition 13m £199 inc 2 x power top 2. The Shimano came out top but the best advice is to go to a dealer where the you can try the poles at full length. Go for the stiffest pole you can afford with a couple of spare top kits. Hope this helps Richard

  6. Hi Gray, Argyll is right it was the Coldham Hall Tavern on the Yare. It was a great spot for fishing right on the edge of the beer garden. I fished from the back of the boat and had a short break ashore for a few drinks and some good food. Then went back aboard and fished into darkness.
  7. Here are a few pictures from my boating holiday on the broads this August. These bream were around the 5lb mark I say around as I did not have any scales Doh!!! I had ten around abouts this size in one session fishing a spot on the river in Brundall. The bream were taken on worm and sweetcorn on the swimfeeder. Here is a picture of the boat we hired for the week. This picture was taken at the pub we moored up overnight in Brundall where i caught the bream above. We hired the boat through Blakes and would definatley recomend them if anyone if anyone wants a relaxing holiday afloat. marzi [ 08. September 2005, 12:27 AM: Message edited by: marzi ]

Hi Melvin, I have fished on board the Blue Marlin I think the crew on the day were Hans and Benito. It was about 2-3 years ago and I had a great day out. We went trolling at first but no luck so we changed to bottom fishing for rays. I had an eagle ray and a small shark. I went with a mixed group of anglers as I could not afford to hire the boat to myself which would be my choice if you could afford it. I would go down the marina when the boats come in to see what they are catching and talk to the boats rep on the quayside (Hans I think). Find out if they are trolling or bottom fishing as they may be offering different trips each day. Good luck with the wedding and especialy with the fishing. Marzi P.S Just had our first wedding aniversary last weekend.
  9. Hi Pete, I have a Brighouse ticket so I can fish the Swale. I think Bradford ticket also enables you to fish the swale not sure about Leeds though. Marzi
  10. I agree with Tony pet food suppliers are a very cheap place for trout, carp pellets and hemp. The one I use also does brown/white groundbait in bulk. I use this to bulk up the more expensive pre packed groundbait. Also for carp you can use bird feeds like pigeon conditioner or use goat feed (the flake type). These can be bought in bulk also. [/QB] Use a food processer to chop the pellets down to powder add an egg then slowly add water to the mix. Please remember to clean the mixer after as trout pellet flavoured cake mix does not taste to good. Marzi [ 28. July 2005, 01:16 PM: Message edited by: marzi ]
  14. Hi Nick, it's the bridge next to Skipton on Swale which I've always called Skipton Bridge but I could be wrong. Anyone else call it somthing different? Marzi [ 28. July 2005, 12:18 PM: Message edited by: marzi ]
  15. Great pictures Peter, my dad fishes the Swale quite often and had a 5lb barbel from the Skipton Bridge stretch last weekend. Hope to fish there myself in the next couple of weeks. I haven't fished a river for years so am looking forward to giving it a go. Marzi
