Glad to see somebody has got a PB like mine (5.5lbs). Started Piking a couple of years ago and only get the chance to do it every few months, caught into my teens in terms of amount in total, but never one over 5.5lbs!

If you go there and Tring is any good please let us know as I used to go to School in Berkhamstead and haven't been round there in ages, a memory-lane trip could be fun, and if I could get some good Piking in too, all the better.

I take it you'd be thinking of deadbaiting rather than spinning there? Do they have a tackle shop?

Cheers,

Well if I have any success I'll let you know. It won't be for a while - at least next month after my wife has finally given birth to our second.

As for tackle shops, the nearest I know of is in Aylesbury - Jakeman Sports in town (tackle shop is downstairs). There might be one closer I don't know.

Theres a tackle shop in Tring its self, which isn't that close to the Reservoirs the address is

Chiltern Tackle

33 Western Road

01442 825257

Depending on where your coming from there are tackle shops in Luton, Leighton Buzzard and Hemel

Thats the address listed in our club book anyway.

I maybe up for a go too I fish the canal a round tring quite a bit not fished the reservoirs for years though.

Everyone's been to tring! It does get a little busy, but the fish are in there and some days they can be caught quite easily. You need to be properly equipped if you ar going to tackle it as you need a landing net with a very long handle as a minimum. The drop from the top of the wave wall to the water is often 6ft or so, so you need a handle at least 10ft long.

If you are new to piking, or would like a better chance of catching consistantly the canal is a much easier and safer bet.
